The science of resolving your symptoms and conditions can be complicated, so we’ve attempted to address some of the most common questions below.

Q: Why should I refer my patient to Jurmaine Health?

We are more than just Neuropsychologists – we are also contributors and leaders in the community, particularly in the areas of ageing, concussion, forensic/medico-legal, cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD) and LGBTI. This means we are more in touch with the community and issues affecting them, and so can provide a comprehensive and well-rounded assessment and information about your brain health.

Q: Can I book an appointment myself, or do I need a referral?

You can book an appointment yourself – no referral is needed. Simply call our office to make a booking that suits your schedule.

Q: What are the location options for assessments?

If you can’t make it to any of our 4 sites in Preston, North Melbourne, Melbourne CBD, or South East Melbourne, we also provide off-site assessments – where we can visit you at your home or office. Usually, there is no charge involved if the site is within 100km of Melbourne CBD.

Q: Does Medicare cover your services? Can I claim your services on my private health cover?

Unfortunately, Neuropsychology Assessments are still considered a specialist service, and are not covered by Medicare or Private Health. However, it may be possible to claim Psychological and Cognitive Rehabilitation as well as Counselling/Therapy with Private Health Insurance, depending on your cover.
