Q: How much do your Neuropsychology services cost?

The APS recommended schedule of fees is $238 an hour. Our Neuropsychology Assessments are anywhere between $1500 and $2700 depending on complexity and time required.

Q: Why should I refer my patient to Jurmaine Health?

We are more than just Neuropsychologists – we are also contributors and leaders in the community, particularly in the areas of ageing, concussion, forensic/medico-legal and CALD. This means we are more in touch with the community and issues affecting them, and so can provide a comprehensive and well-rounded assessment and information about your brain health.

Q: Can I book an appointment myself, or do I need a referral?

You can book an appointment yourself – no referral is needed.

Q: What if I am unable to make it to your clinic?

If you can’t make it to any of our 4 sites, we also provide offsite assessments – where we can visit you at your home or office. Usually there is no charge involved if the site is within 100km of Melbourne CBD.

Q: Does Medicare cover your services? Can I claim your services on my private health cover?

Unfortunately Neuropsychology Assessments are still considered a specialist service, and are not covered by Medicare or Private Health. However,it may be possible to claim Neuropsychological Counselling/Therapy with Private Health Insurance.

Q: How do I know if I should come to you?
  1. If you find yourself going to a clinic consecutively for weeks on end without a resolution, we may be able to help.
  2. If you find yourself receiving the same treatment approach for weeks, months or years on end without a resolution, we may be able to help.
  3. If we find that we can’t have a definable outcome for you within 2-4 sessions, we are likely to refer you on for further medical investigation.
  4. If you are a sport or performance arts athlete, we are likely to get you ready in a very short span of time. If you want to train but don’t know where to start, we can help give you a specialised and simple fundamental base to work from.
  5. At least one of our musculoskeletal clinicians ins an Active Release Techniques™ instructor, which is the methodology that has been used by the World IronMan Championships for more than 25 years.
Q: What are your fees?
  1. The average total spend by a person in a common rehabilitation setting is $1,300.00.
    People spend an average of $500.00 on rehabilitation fees with us.Here is how we compare:

    Top End Massage/Musculoskeletal Therapist: $120 per hour
    Top End Strength Trainer: $120 – $150 per hour
    Top End Physiotherapist: $240 – $280 per hour
    Common Chiropractic Fee: $55 – $60 per 10 – 15 minute session (equivalent to $240 per hour)

    Our Current Fee Structure (fees are subject to change each financial year)

    • $170.00 per hour (taping included)
    • $85.00 per 1/2 hour for subsequent sessions
    • We will inform you if we need to spend more time with you.
Q: How many sessions are needed?

This usually depends on:

  • The diagnosis, issues and goals of the individual
  • The rate of recovery

Most people experience a significant difference in pain or movement perception within the first two sessions. However, it is the second session that determines the recovery pathway.

Q: What do I need to bring?

We recommend that you bring:

  • Comfortable clothes
  • Previous imagings (eg. CT, MRI, X-Ray)
Q: How long is the first session?

You can expect your first session to take 1 hour.

Q: How long are subsequent sessions?

Most subsequent sessions are half an hour, however some people do require at least 45 minutes to an hour. It depends on what you are trying to achieve and how much treatment your body can tolerate.

Q: Do you use equipment like TENS or Ultrasound?

No, we don’t. We assess, diagnose and treat with our hands.

Q: Do you accept Chronic Disease Management Plans (given by GP)?

Yes we do. Please check with your health cover provider that you are covered for Chiropractic.

Q: Do you accept Private Health funds?

Yes we do. Please check with your health cover provider that you are covered for Chiropractic.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

We take credit card details up-front and require at least 12 hours notice if you are unable to attend your appointment.

In cases of emergency, please let us know at your earliest convenience.

No shows and failure to inform are charged at 100% of the appointment rate.
